Every material behaves differently once it is in a working kitchen. The table below summarises how the surfaces we fabricate compare on the points homeowners ask about most often. HOW IT WORKS

From Slab Selection to Installed Countertop

  1. Slab selection. You choose your actual slab in our Norcross showroom — not a 4-inch sample. Veining moves across a slab, so seeing the whole piece matters on islands and waterfalls.
  2. Digital templating. We measure your cabinets after they are installed and level, capturing wall irregularities, appliance clearances and overhang lines.
  3. Layout and seam planning. We show you where seams will fall and how the pattern will book-match before anything is cut.
  4. Fabrication. Cutting, edge profiling, sink and faucet cut-outs, and polishing are carried out in our own shop.
  5. Installation. Our crew sets, levels and seams the tops, connects the sink cut-out to your plumber’s work, and cleans up.

Because templating, fabrication and installation stay with one team, there is no hand-off where responsibility gets lost.

DETAILS

Edge Profiles, Thickness and Backsplash Options

The edge profile changes how a countertop reads more than most people expect. A square eased edge looks contemporary; an ogee reads traditional; a mitred edge makes a 3 cm slab look like a 6 cm or thicker slab without the weight or cost of solid stock.

  • Standard profiles: eased/square, quarter round, half bullnose, full bullnose, bevel.
  • Premium profiles: ogee, dupont, cove dupont, laminated mitred edges for thick-look islands.
  • Thickness: most of our slabs are stocked in 2 cm and 3 cm. The card for each colour in the gallery above lists the thicknesses that colour is available in.
  • Backsplash: a 4-inch standard splash, or a full-height slab splash that continues the veining up the wall and removes grout lines entirely.

Countertop FAQs

How long does a countertop project take from template to installation?

Most residential kitchens are templated once the cabinets are set and level, and installed after fabrication is complete. We give you the specific dates for your job at templating, because they depend on material availability and the complexity of the layout.

Do I need to seal a quartz countertop?

No. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so it does not need sealing. Natural stones such as granite, marble and quartzite are porous and benefit from periodic sealing.

Can I put a hot pan directly on the countertop?

We recommend trivets on every material. Quartz contains resin that can scorch or discolour under direct heat; natural stone tolerates heat better but thermal shock can still cause damage.

Will my countertop have a seam?

It depends on the run length and the slab size. We plan seam placement with you before cutting and position seams where they are least visible — typically at a sink, a corner, or a change of direction.

Can you fabricate an outdoor kitchen countertop?

Yes. Porcelain and granite are the usual choices for outdoor installations because they handle UV exposure and temperature swings well. Some quartz colours are not rated for outdoor use, so we will steer you away from those.

Do you supply the sink as well?

Yes — we stock porcelain and 304-grade stainless steel models. See the sinks collection, and we will cut the counter to match the model you choose.
